Child Welfare News
The Child Welfare Program has been lucky to have no staff turnover since the last newsletter (knock on wood!). Our existing staff is as follows:

• Cliff McKelvey - Foster Care Caseworker based in West Branch
• Diana Boyd - Foster Care Caseworker based in Gaylord
• Madelene Wirgau - Foster Care Caseworker based in Alpena
• Rachel Burke - Foster Care Caseworker based in Alpena
• Marci Sample - Adoption Specialist
• Kelli Sumerix - Adoption Specialist and Foster Home Licensing Worker
• Debra Smith - Foster Home Licensing Worker

Foster care staff are busy preparing many of the youth on their caseload for Independent Living. A bit later this spring, we will be providing the Financial Literacy Program for those teens that are aging out of foster care. We are very excited to be able to provide this great program in order to better prepare our youth for life in the grown up world.
